MEET DAVE
As a local Maui resident since 1988 and a real estate agent since 1993, Dave has developed an extensive knowledge of this beautiful island, its diverse climates, and topographies, and also of the special types of communities around the island.
Pick your lifestyle, and Dave can take you there. He has a real passion for the ocean, Maui, and his family! It was the ocean that brought him here. Growing up in Florida, he acquired a lifelong passion for surfing. His travels took him from Miami to Maui, and also introduced him to his future wife, Andrea. Dave fell in love with Andrea, then Maui, and the rest is history.
Dave found his piece of paradise and built his family’s home from the ground up. Dave has always enjoyed carpentry and landscaping. While in college, majoring in communications, he explored architecture and technical drawing. He employs these interests when renovating properties and when helping his clients discover great opportunities.
Dave’s experience with the Leadership Academy developed a skill set that has enabled winning awards such as Realtor of the Year, Top 3% of all Maui Realtors three years in a row. His philosophy is that while this business is quite serious, it’s still possible to enjoy the journey. According to his testimonials, most clients feel the same way!
FAMILY FIRST
My wife, Andrea, has worked as an Early Childhood Educator on Maui for over twenty years, at both Haleakala Waldorf School (HWS) and Montessori. She enjoys painting magical scenes and enjoys caring for our three sweet dogs, Sunny, Hina and Pono.
Our daughter, Sabrina, attended HWS and Seabury Hall on Maui before studying Illustration at the Rhode Island School of Design. She currently works at Warner Brothers’ DC Comics, splitting her time between Los Angeles and her island home.
IN SEARCH OF SURF
Over thirty years ago, my wife and I moved to Maui in search of great waves. Today, I still try to find time to ride the waves in some form or fashion, whether it be surfing, wingfoiling or my recent passion, pronefoil surfing. I also enjoy playing golf now and then and snowboarding in the winters.
COMMUNITY SERVICE
At Haleakala Waldorf School, I served twelve years in a variety of roles: As Director of the School Board, Chair of their Building and Grounds Committee, Chair of the High School Initiative Committee, and Chief Organizer of food and refreshments at the school’s annual Holiday Faire.
My most significant contribution may have been my time on the High School Initiative Committee. After ten years of leading this committee, I am proud to say the high school opened its doors in Makawao, Maui.
Giving back to the school which has done so much for my wife, daughter, and the community at large has meant the world to me, which is why I came out of retirement and am serving my third term on its School Board.
BUSINESS & LOCAL COMMUNITY
I regularly make time for active involvement in our Maui community. On a weekly basis, I am proud to support Mana’o Radio, our local volunteer-run radio station. I volunteered at the Maui Food Bank, where I helped box food for the Maui wildfire victims and the Surfrider Foundation, where I helped to coordinate a community beach cleanup at Baldwin Beach Park. It gives me immense pride to support organizations like this, which support our local community and/or the sustainability of our planet.
On a business level, I currently serve on the Board of the REALTORS®️ Association of Maui and have served as their Upcountry Regional Director. I’ve served on the Board of the Hawaii Association of REALTORS® as well.
I am currently a member of the Maui Executives Association, having served as President and chair of their Membership and Ethics Committees.
Meanwhile, in my own neighborhood, I have served as the Board President of the Hea’aula Place Owners Association for over twenty-five years.
